Passion, talent and knowledge has propelled ATEX Particle Counting Company (APCC) Technical Director Wayne Hubball to a position where he is now regarded as one of the industry’s leading authorities on particle counting and fluid cleanliness.
With over 30 years’ experience of contamination control, he enjoys an unrivalled reputation in the field. His expert knowledge of the characterization and measurement of particulate contamination of parts, components, sub-assemblies and assemblies comprising the fluid circuits of engines or transmission, has benefitted hundreds of customers.
With a wealth of experience in fluid power and cleanliness control, Wayne has harnessed and refined the cutting-edge technology that takes the pursuit of purity to a new level. It’s this relentless quest that underpins everything the APCC team does.
He formed the ATEX Particle Counting Company (APCC) earlier this year to coincide with the unveiling of the first ever – commercially available – ISO11171:2022 particle counter certified for use in explosive atmospheres.
It will give ATEX access to previously untapped markets – including oil & gas, shipbuilding, green energy, chemical & pharmaceutical, food, mining and traditional energy.
Wayne’s small, specialised team also includes Engineering Director Peter Remmert, who has immense experience in 3D design and the manufacture of high and low volume items from raw materials. His skill set takes in fault analysis on laser optical electro–mechanical scanning devices; the customising or re-design of equipment to work in harsh environments and extreme temperatures; Ansys CFD, CFX, and other simulation tools.
Peter also has extensive experience with the design and build of hydraulic actuators, power tools, cold steel cutting devices, robotic arms and attachments for ultra-deep sea remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to work in a wide range of conditions and power sources.
He is also highly experienced with Geomagic – the professional engineering software brand of 3D Systems.The company’s products focus on computer aided design with the emphasis on 3D scanning.
Completing the headquarters line-up is Managing Director, Dr Kirsty Hunter, who is responsible for overseeing quality and analytical services. Kirsty has many years’ experience in the bioscientific research field which she uses to ensure we provide a high-quality, traceable and fully tested product.
