Our Company
The Atex Particle Counting Company (APCC) is a dynamic, highly specialised, UK-based company.
As our name suggests, we measure the impurities that cause your equipment to fail. And we specialise in doing this in hazardous and potentially explosive atmospheres. ‘ATEX’ is an abbreviation for the ATEX Directive (short for ‘Atmospheres Explosibles’) – a set of European Union regulations designed to ensure the safety of products being used in explosive environments.
Our customer base is global, with clients around the world appreciating the fact that cleanliness really does matter – not just to engineers but to the environment too.
There’s a growing realisation that machines can be compromised by hydraulic contamination and failure – meaning more frequent replacement and increased use of precious resources.
But, for the last 30 years, we’ve been helping to reverse this trend.
First, under the banner of Reynolds Contamination Control, and now, as the Atex Particle Counting Company, we’re making sure that component parts run faster, harder, tighter and critically, given our limited natural resources, longer than ever before.
Every aspect of every process we use is based on the pursuit of purity rather than just cleanliness. Working in close collaboration with our strategic and technical partners – experts in their associated fields – we provide the very highest levels of quality and attention-to-detail.
And now we’ve gone a stage further – by putting our technology in the firing line! Vital equipment operating in hazardous environments can now be monitored and protected by the world’s first commercially available calibrated particle counter – for both oil and fuels – that meets the ATEX, IECEx and UKEX standards for hazardous locations.
