The ATEX Particle Counting Company (APCC) and Spectrolytic have announced a new agreement that will see APCC become a distributor for the Edinburgh-based company.
Spectrolytic’ s FluidInspectIR® is a comprehensive fluid condition monitoring system that uses several sensor technologies to provide a complete solution for its customer base. At the core of the system is an innovative mid-infrared analyser developed by the team at Spectrolytic.
It measures the chemical composition (degradation, contamination, additive depletion etc) of oils and fluids with the same accuracy, and in the same units, as equivalent laboratory measurements, across a range of industries including marine, steel and aluminium plants, metalworking, offshore, turbomachinery, power generation and many more.
All inline and portable systems are extremely robust, with no moving parts, and form an integral part of customers’ digitisation strategies.
“We now have a very large global base of installed equipment,” said Head of Commercial Patrick Taylor, “and that expansion has been driven by customer demand. The bottom line is that we help them to reduce their costs and extend asset life. The savings can be substantial.”
“As far as our customers are concerned, we really see this strategic partnership with APCC as a match made in heaven. By combining our efforts and providing a holistic approach to oil and fluid monitoring, we both stand to benefit by providing a range of integrated solutions for our customers.”
ATEX Technical Director Wayne Hubball said: “This is a very exciting development for both parties. We’ve been selling high-accuracy particle counting technology – in various applications – for years. But now we’ll be able to pinpoint specific chemistry details as well as issues like degradation.
“We’re very excited about it. It opens up many other opportunities for both the integration of particle counting and the analysis results we get from Spectrolytic’ s equipment. There’s a lot of interest among customers, potentially allowing us to expand a range of markets, such as marine, Formula 1, refineries, offshore and oil and gas.”
